Aiyedatiwa Address The State As An Acting Governor.

Acting Governor of Ondo State, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, on Thursday, addressed the people of the “Sunshine State” upon assumption of office.

According to Daily Trust, he pointed out that the state could have avoided the problems of the past few months for its benefit. While acknowledging that the recent political crisis has tested people’s loyalty to the state and democracy, he called on everyone to let bygones be bygones and unite with him.

He stated that now is the time to come together, with love and affection for one another, and support the governor’s admirable vision and goals for the state. He appealed to every member of the Ondo State government for their genuine support, cooperation, and dedication.

To achieve the significant and swift progress envisioned and pursued by Akeredolu, he said that renewed unity is necessary. Addressing the people of Ondo State, he stated that what occurred in the past was merely a temporary setback on our democratic journey. As a government, they have overcome it.

He noted that the political crisis hindered the state’s progress and impacted its citizens, emphasizing the need for all stakeholders to collaborate for the welfare of the people.

He emphasized that the expectations of Ondo residents, which require them to continue fulfilling the mandate given to Akeredolu and himself, must be met.

He highlighted that they must avoid unnecessary distractions as their interests can no longer be divided and their purpose cannot be fragmented. He urged everyone to stand together till the end and be resolute in advancing the welfare and security of our people.

It was reported that since June, when Akeredolu departed for a three-month medical leave in Germany, he has not returned to Ondo State. After his return in September, he resided in Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State, attempting to remotely oversee state affairs until the intervention of President Bola Tinubu and other high-ranking members of the APC.
