President Bola Ahmed Tinubu Appoint Mr Akindele Egbuwalo As The CEO Of NSIPA.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, resuming from the New Year break, has approved the appointment of Akindele Egbuwalo as the Acting Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and the National Coordinator of the National Social Investment Programme Agency (NSIPA).
The decision taken by the President follows his previous directive which sacked the immediate past CEO and National Coordinator of the agency, Halima Shehu, who was accused of corrupt practices and financial malfeasance.
Her removal from office comes barely three months after she was confirmed for the appointment by the Senate.
It was gathered that the NSIPA boss was suspended by Mr President on Tuesday over allegations of fraud in the organisation.
She was told to step down to allow a thorough investigation into the allegations against her.
In the meantime, the President has appointed Mr Akindele Egbuwalo as the acting coordinator of the NSIPA, pending the conclusion of the comprehensive probe ordered by President.
Until now, he was the national coordinator of the N-Power program, and his new appointment takes effect immediately.
